May Message—“And Down the Stretch They Come”

If you have ever watched a horse race I would assume we agree that the finish is what draws our attention the most.  When the announcer pronounces the “stretch run” is taking place, observers jump to their feet and the excitement levels escalate with anticipation.  If the race is close and the outcome is in question, we conclude that this was a “great” spectacle to see.

As the school year winds down, we are definitely in the “home stretch”.  The excitement is building with all the anticipation of what the close of school brings.  We have Graduation, we have Ring-Ding, and of course the conclusion of Final Exams.  We will truly sprint to the line with a great anticipation of closing a fantastic school year on a positive note.  With this being said, I want to encourage each student and teacher to make our final “kick”.  We do not want to slack off and possibly cause us problems that are due to unforeseen circumstances.  We must be diligent and precise with our duties and responsibilities that will afford us the greatest chance to see success.

My desire is see our seniors graduate with anticipation of a great future that we have had a part of creating for them.  I wish for our junior’s to take the leadership role of the school and stand out for us in the coming school year.  I want our sophomore’s to take the “big jump” to the class that is now viewed as “upper classmen” in our school.  And finally to our freshmen that no longer has the distinct honor of that title, but have the ability to be a very special class.

I want to commend our public for passing the largest construction bond in Bossier Parish history.  Our future is filled with excitement and anticipation that rivals that of a horse race.  Just remember to stay focused on our goal and to everyone, “DOWN THE STRETCH THEY COME”.

May God Bless You,

Jason Rowland

The students worked in groups to create their own piñatas.

The last picture is when a couple from Peru (Diego and Patricia Recarte) came to speak to 2nd block classes about Peru.  The couple was in the States for a month and came to our Spanish classes to talk about Peruvian culture.
