Tonight’s home opener basketball games against Ruston will be $3 student night. Any Airline student that shows their student is will get in for $3.

Juniors-ALL Ring Staff Applications are DUE to Mrs. Knotts (E107) or Mrs. Ray (E110) by2:30 TODAY! 

 

Mrs. Hahn is taking applications for the new National Arts Honor Society. Those wishing to join need at least one semester of art, with a 3.0 average for both art and overall GPA. Two letters of recommendation are required, with one of those being an art teacher. Dues will be $20, Applications due by Friday the 17th.

 

Yearbooks on sale, $70 each - there is a $10 off coupon in the ASKALADA handed out last week. Get those books purchased early for the best prices.

 

Coffee will be staring to be served at lunch also. Remember we have keurig cups, so some flavors are available. $1 for a cup and 2 free condiments, .06 cents after that. Enjoy a hot cup today!!!

 

Attention Seniors: Applications for the Jeff Hazen Memorial Scholarship are now available. You must have a 3.0 or higher GPA, 20 or higher on the ACT and plan to attend a 4 year college in the United States. Application deadline is January 31, 2018. This year, AHS Drama Department will be presenting Disney's live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.  Auditions for the show will be held after school Wednesday, 11/29 and Thursday, 11/30.  Sign up sheet is available on the Drama bulletin board beginning Friday, November 10 in A wing.   Please see Mrs. Finimore or Mrs. Lipsey if you have questions.

 

In conjunction with the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Department, we will be conducting a canned food drive from November 1st – December 4th.  This will be a contest between 1st block classes.  The class that brings the most percentage of cans will be awarded a surprise.  Let’s fill all the barrels in the foyer in an effort to help those in need. 

   

The Lady Viking softball team will host tryouts for any and all transfer students/freshmen (that did not make the May 2017 try out) interested in participating:

Applications for Louisiana Tech Aerospace Scholarship are now available online at https://www.afrotc.com/scholarships/application   

Applicants must have an ACT composite of 26, 3.0 or higher GPA and complete a physical fitness assessment.  Currently the most desired applicants will be students planning to major in engineering, meteorology, nuclear physics and foreign languages. Deadline to apply is December 1st.  

 

Attention all interested in trying out for the Bowling team. Tryouts will be on November 29th and 30th from 3-5 p.m. at Holiday Lanes. You must have a physical and waiver signed by a parent or guardian to tryout. You can download the forms from our website or you can get the forms from Coach Finimore in F-110. Sign up sheets will be outside of room F-110.

 

SENIOR PROJECT:

Terrence Stewart is hosting a Musical Festival at Elizabeth Baptist Church. 301 Old Bellevue Road Benton LA, Saturday November 18th, at 6:00 p.m.  Admission is $3.00, all proceeds go to the youth ministry.
