    First Day of School for Students in Grades 1-12

    Wednesday, August 7, 2019


    All new students, including kindergarten students, MUST have a certified birth certificate, an up-to-date Louisiana health card, and proof of residence. New students in Grades 1–12 must bring previous school records.

    What to Bring…

    • Photo ID (Driver’s license, State issued ID, or Military ID)
    • Student’s original, state issued birth certificate
    • Current Louisiana Immunization Record (example)
    • Proof of Residence with your name and address

    Beginning with the registration for the 2019-2020 school year, ALL students residing with a parent or legal guardian must submit the following in order to be enrolled in the Bossier Parish School District:

    1. One (1) current utility bill showing the physical address for service within the District; AND
    2. One (1) of the following that shows location of residence within the District;
      • Property tax records with one (1) other form listed here;
      • Mortgage documents or property deed; or
      • Apartment or home lease or, if no lease, a notarized statement of the verified property owner (see school registrar for additional information required)
      • Declaration of Residency and/or personal visit by designated District official.
    3. If the student resides with a legal guardian, the court decree must be provided

    Legal custody papers, if applicable (MUST have the signature of a judge)

    Summer Reading

    Complete the reading and assignments before school begins and be prepared to complete other assignments and assessments the first week of the semester. See the attached “Summer Reading Assignments” for specific instructions and examples.

    We are looking forward to the large group of Freshmen heading to Airline this fall.  Below are some important dates for all freshman, and please view our wonderful video presentation for the incoming freshmen and any new student.


    Freshmen Orientation:  Thursday, August 1, at 6:00 p.m.

    Viking Adventure Day:  Friday, August 2, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

    First Day of School:  Wednesday, August 7, 2019


    All remaining balances for pep squad are due by the clinic date on August 9th.

    Everyday Evidences

    Airline Robotics Club

    Airline Robotics Club participated in the third Regional Autonomous Robotics Competition Circuit on Saturday April 27, 2019 at the Bossier Civic Center. Ben Meister a Junior and Christine Meister a Freshman took 2nd place in the high school division. They also won 1st place in the second competition on February 9, 2019. By placing 1st and 2nd in these two competitions enabled the pair to win 2nd place for the Grand Sweepstakes prize of $750 for the Vikings.

     National Merit Good News

    The National Merit Scholarship Program has now determined which of the 16.000 Semifinalists named in Sept 2018 have met all requirements to advance to Finalist standing in the competition.  All Finalists will be considered for National Merit Scholarships to be offered in 2019.

    Airline High School is proud to announce that SR's Spencer Favor and Kinan Kasabali have both been name Finalists for this most prestigious scholarship.  In March, NMSC will begin mailing scholarship offers to winners at their home addresses and confidential notices to their high school principals.  Formal announcements will be made in the subsequent months.
